When I first ran for the Pasco County School Board, it wasn’t because I wanted to become a politician. It was because I wanted to make sure the voice of an educator was represented at the table where decisions affecting our students, teachers, and schools are made.

As a certified educator with a Master’s Degree in Reading Education, I understand that strong schools are built through excellent instruction, supported teachers, and decisions grounded in what is best for students. That belief has guided every vote I’ve cast, and it continues to guide me today.

​

Serving on the School Board has never been about politics. It’s about ensuring every student has the opportunity to graduate College, Career and Life Ready.

​

Education isn’t something I talk about only during campaign season. It’s been my life’s work. Every major decision I’ve made as a School Board member has been shaped by my experience as a teacher and by the conversations I continue to have with educators, students, and families throughout Pasco County. I continue to volunteer as a substitute teacher in our schools because I believe the best leaders stay connected to the classrooms they serve. I am also honored to serve as an adjunct professor at Saint Leo University, where I have the privilege of preparing the next generation of teachers for the profession I love.

Over the past several years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside outstanding teachers, administrators, support staff, families, business leaders, and community partners to move Pasco County Schools forward.

Together, we’ve accomplished a great deal.

​

Today, Pasco County has earned an A district grade through the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, staff, and families. Reading proficiency has improved every year across almost every grade level, with students meeting or exceeding the state average in many grades. One accomplishment that makes me especially proud is that Pasco County no longer has any D or F graded schools. Every school in our district is now meeting a higher standard, proving that when we work together and stay focused on students, meaningful progress is possible.

I’ve also been proud to lead efforts that prepare students to become engaged citizens. Expanding civics education and helping students understand the importance of informed, responsible citizenship is an investment not only in their future, but in the future of our community, our state, and our nation.

​

I’ve been honored to earn the confidence of my fellow School Board members across Florida. As a member of the Florida School Boards Association Board of Directors and a two time Chair of the Pasco County School Board, I’ve had the opportunity to help shape educational leadership across our state while bringing innovative ideas and best practices back home to Pasco County.

​

While we’ve made tremendous progress, our work isn’t finished.

​

I will continue advocating for competitive teacher and staff compensation because attracting and retaining outstanding educators is one of the most important investments we can make in our students’ future. I will continue supporting rigorous academics, career and technical education, expanded civics education, safe schools, fiscal responsibility, and transparent leadership.

​

Most importantly, I will continue making decisions based on facts, data, and what is best for students, not politics.

​

I believe the best School Board members never stop learning, never stop listening, and never lose sight of the classrooms where the real work happens.

I’m running for reelection because I believe our district has built incredible momentum. We’ve shown what is possible when we stay focused on students, support our educators, and work together as one community. There is still important work ahead, and I remain committed to building on the progress we’ve made together.

It has been the honor of my life to serve the students, teachers, staff, and families of Pasco County. I would be grateful for the opportunity to continue that work and help ensure every student leaves our schools College, Career and Life Ready.
