My Story

 

I have proudly called Pasco County home since I was in first grade. As the oldest of four girls, I learned early the importance of responsibility, hard work, and always looking out for others. Those values continue to shape who I am today.

 

Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. While other kids were playing games, I was playing school. I loved setting up a classroom, grading papers, and pretending to teach my students.

 

That dream became a calling because of my first grade teacher. She wasn’t just the kind of teacher who invested in me academically. She invested in me as a person. She cared about what was happening in my life both inside and outside the classroom, encouraged me, believed in me, and made me feel seen. She showed me that great teachers don’t just teach lessons. They change lives. I knew I wanted to have that same impact on future generations of students.

 

As a proud Pasco County Schools graduate, I attended Hudson Elementary, Dayspring Academy, and graduated from Hudson High School. My education here shaped who I am, and it’s one of the reasons serving this community means so much to me.

 

After high school, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida and my Master’s degree in Reading K–12 from Saint Leo University. I also earned my Reading Endorsement, ESOL Endorsement, and Exceptional Student Education (ESE) K–12 certification because I believe every child deserves an educator who is prepared to meet their individual needs.

 

Before serving on the Pasco County School Board, I spent seven years as an elementary school teacher, where I had the privilege of helping students discover their potential and develop a love of learning. I also served as an Early Intervention Instructor with The Lighthouse for the Blind Babies Program, supporting infants and toddlers with visual impairments and their families. Today, I continue investing in future educators as an adjunct instructor at Saint Leo University, preparing the next generation of teachers while staying connected to our schools and classrooms.

 

In 2018, I was honored to be elected to the Pasco County School Board. As both a teacher and a school board member, I have remained committed to putting students first, supporting our educators, making thoughtful decisions, and being a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars.

 

I proudly live in Port Richey with my husband, Jeromy, and our two dogs, Piper and Duke. Pasco County is more than where we live. It is home. It is where I grew up, where I found my passion for education, and where I have dedicated my career to serving students, teachers, and families.

 

It is an incredible privilege to serve the community that has given so much to me. I am proud of how far our schools have come, and I am committed to continuing the work of building an even stronger future for Pasco County Schools.
